What we see

### What makes a B2B SaaS product grow? Four things we have seen over nine years

You pay to get a user in. The first minutes decide if they stay.

Onboarding and activation
We design the first session so new users reach their aha moment, not an empty dashboard. Acquisition is expensive, and a lost first session wastes it. Activation

Every release adds a feature. Nothing ever gets simpler.

Complexity that accumulates
We rebuild flows around the actions users repeat and the work teams share, so a growing product stays readable to its users. Complexity

The product is good. The site does not say why it matters.

The funnel before the login
We design your SaaS website and story so the value lands in seconds and more visitors book a demo. Much of growth is decided before signup. Conversion

The AI feature took a quarter to build. Few users use it.

AI features users trust
We design AI features people adopt, with visible sources, honest confidence, an edit path, and a way to disagree with the output. AI trust

Two kinds of SaaS

### Building on AI or adding it to SaaS? The product design work differs

1. AI-native SaaS
Built on AI from day one. Now it has to convert, activate, and retain.

- A product review built on user feedback, data and your goals.
- Design work aimed at conversion, activation and retention.
- New features designed end to end, from problem to shipped flow.
- Product design, plus web and brand for the sales funnel.
- A design system and workflow, with AI or in Figma, for fast iteration.

2. AI-adoptive SaaS
A product that shipped before AI, now adding it without breaking trust.

- A UX audit of where users drop off, from your data and feedback.
- Cleaner navigation and a UX logic users can follow.
- New AI features designed around tasks users already do.
- A UI refresh that makes a mature product feel current.
- Design system updates so new AI features match the product.

Why us

### Why B2B SaaS teams choose Other Land

#### Weekly sprints

Other Land delivers design work every week and changes course when your priorities do.

#### Embedded department

We work inside your team as its design department and add the speed and expertise it needs now.

#### A team of three

An AI-native product designer matched to your domain, backed by a design director and a PM.

#### Problem first, then design

We define the problem from user feedback, data, stakeholders and competitors, then propose solutions. Your roadmap is one option.

#### Figma, code, or both

We design in Figma, build the interface in code, or both, matched to your team, your stack and your product.

#### AI with a design review

AI speeds up research, prototyping and handoff. A designer reviews every screen and our design director signs off.

Who it's for

### B2B SaaS design at every company stage

#### A SaaS startup or MVP

Speed and focus. An AI-native product designer ships the flows your first B2B customers pay for, with onboarding that needs no sales call.

#### A scaling SaaS product

A fresh view of activation and features that piled up, or work along your roadmap, whichever your team needs. Shipped weekly with your squads.

#### An enterprise SaaS platform

We join your squads and design team, plan rollouts across roles, permissions and admin, and keep big teams in sync.

Collaboration models

### Four ways to work with Other Land. Pick the setup that fits you

We have a backlog piling up. Can you join quickly and help?

Embedded Designer
An AI-native product designer who works inside your team, owns your design, and ships on your roadmap. Full-time or part-time, for as long as you need. From 4 weeks

Onboarding leaks and activation is flat. Can you fix it?

Project Sprint
A clear scope with a clear outcome. One flow, one funnel, one release. We come in, do the work, and ship it with your team. 1–3 months

We do not know where in the flow we lose users. Can you find it?

UX Diagnostic
A focused look at where your product loses users, backed by your analytics. You get the problems, the causes, and a list of what to fix first. 2 to 6 weeks

We have steady design work, but not a full-time hire's worth.

Fractional Support
Ongoing design help without a full-time hire. A set number of hours each month, for whatever needs doing. Scale up or down anytime. From 40h / month

### B2B SaaS product design questions, answered

#### How fast can a design agency learn a complex SaaS product?

Other Land needs one to two weeks before the work looks confident, with useful questions from day two. Week one is spent inside your product with a real account, in your analytics, and in conversation with whoever holds the history, a PM, a support or customer success lead, or an engineer.
Complex SaaS products are rarely complex in the interface. They are complex in the rules and edge cases underneath, and those usually live in people's heads rather than in documentation. We map them as we go and give the map back to you, which is often the first useful artefact of the engagement. Design work starts in parallel from week one on a scoped piece rather than waiting for full understanding.

#### What does an agency need from our team?

Other Land needs three things in the first days. Access to the product with a working account and to your analytics, one person who can answer questions without scheduling a meeting, and a shared view of the three things that matter most this quarter. After that, one call a week and async replies are enough.
What slows engagements down is rarely a lack of documentation. It is waiting on approval from someone who is never in the thread. If a decision needs a specific person, we would rather know their name in week one than discover it in week four.

#### Who from Other Land will work on our product?

Three people. Other Land puts an AI-native product designer matched to your product on the daily work, and keeps two more people behind them. A design director reviews it, keeps the quality steady, and steps in when a problem is bigger than one person. A PM holds scope, cadence, and the boring parts, so nobody on your side has to manage us.
You pay one monthly fee for all three, not three rates. If we do not have the right designer free for your domain, we say so instead of sending whoever is on the bench.

#### How soon does SaaS product design show results?

Findings in week one, designed work in week two or three, and metric movement when it ships. The first week produces a read on where the product loses users, with the problems ranked. Weeks two and three produce flows you can review and hand to engineering.
After that the timeline stops being ours: numbers move on your release cadence, so if you ship weekly, expect signal in four to six weeks, and if you ship quarterly it is longer. We would rather say that upfront than promise a date we do not control. If the goal is one specific metric, growth design is the closer fit.

#### What is Other Land's design process?

Other Land works in weekly sprints, with everything visible as it happens. Monday we agree what the week produces. Midweek you get async updates in your channel rather than a status report. Friday we review the work together and adjust the next scope.
We work in your Jira or Linear, your Slack, your Figma organisation and your design system. We design in Figma, build in Claude Code or Cursor, or both, matched to your team, and our design director reviews every screen before you see it. Nothing is saved up for a reveal at the end of the month.

#### How much of our time does this take each week?

One call a week and roughly two hours in total. The call runs thirty to sixty minutes, with your PM or product owner and whoever else needs to be in it. The rest is async: questions answered in a thread, work reviewed with comments in Figma.
The first two weeks are heavier, closer to three or four hours, because that is when we are learning your product and its rules. After that it settles. If your team is stretched, say so on the intro call and we will pull more of the discovery from analytics and the product itself, and less from interviews.

#### How do you simplify a complex SaaS product without changing its logic?

By separating two things that get confused. Domain complexity is real and stays. Your product is complicated because the work it supports is complicated. Interface complexity is a choice, usually the accumulation of years of additions that each made sense on their own.
Other Land keeps every capability and changes what is on screen first, what waits behind a click, what has a sane default, and what is named in your users' language rather than your database's. Sequencing, hierarchy, and progressive disclosure do most of the work. And because we stay on the front end, nothing underneath has to move. A UX audit is the usual starting point.

#### How much does B2B SaaS product design cost?

Other Land bills two ways, both simple monthly fees. Weekly sprints suit scoped work up to about three months, where you pay monthly for the weeks we work. An embedded designer joins your team full time at a fixed monthly rate, similar to a salary.
One monthly fee covers your designer and the design director and PM who back them. After the intro call you get a written estimate with scope and cost. The minimum commitment is four weeks.

#### Have you designed B2B SaaS products before?

Yes, seven of them, from dashboards to full platforms: Sides for restaurant management, RiskIndex for counterparty risk, Precoro for procurement and spend, Accessia for corporate subscriptions and Manifest for the US visa process, among others. In a restaurant B2B SaaS, activation of key features grew from 8% to 23% after the redesign.

#### Should we hire a SaaS design agency or an in-house designer?

Hire in-house when you have years of steady design work and time to recruit. Hire Other Land when you need a senior designer within one to two weeks, want a design director reviewing every screen, or are not sure yet how much design you need. Many teams start with Other Land and hire in-house later, and Other Land helps source, screen and onboard that hire.
