Where we help

### When teams call Other Land about product design

The roadmap is agreed and there is nobody to design it.

Design is the bottleneck
An AI-native product designer joins your sprints in one to two weeks. No discovery phase you pay for twice, and no ramp-up quarter. Capacity

The product grew feature by feature and nobody owns the whole.

Complexity nobody owns
Every release made sense on its own. Together they made navigation nobody can hold in their head. We fix the information architecture before adding more. Complexity

We are adding AI and nobody knows how it should work.

AI features with no playbook
Chat, agents and generated answers have few proven patterns yet. We design how users prompt, check and trust what the model returns. AI features

The product works. It still feels like the first version of itself.

From MVP to product
The patterns that got your MVP launched are the ones that break as you scale. We redesign it into the product users pay for and keep using. MVP to product

How we work

### Other Land's product design process

1. Setup
Team, access, and how we will ship

- We scope the work and pick the people it actually needs
- Kickoff with both teams, plus access to your tools and analytics
- We agree where design lives, in Figma, Cursor, or Claude Code
- One to two weeks before design starts, and a few days on a four-week sprint

2. Context
Two to ten days inside your product

- Stakeholder interviews with product, engineering, support, sales and marketing
- We read the roadmap and the dev plan, not only the design backlog
- We start in your Amplitude, Mixpanel or PostHog, so data sets priorities, not taste
- User interviews where possible, to hear what actually hurts
- First drafts land right after onboarding, not a month later

3. Sprints
Weekly sprints, design that ships

- We work your backlog, or propose one and agree it with you
- Estimates upfront, and an update on what shipped every week
- We flag when the ticket is not the problem, with the data behind it
- We build the design system as we go, so new screens stay consistent
- Syncs one to three times a week, so nothing waits for a review

4. Handoff
Prototypes over documents

- Screens go over in batches, so review and build start early
- Clickable prototypes explain the logic better than a spec does
- Figma MCP hands components to your coding agents, not screenshots
- Front-end code for the interface, generated in Cursor or Claude Code
- We write documentation only where something breaks without it

Why us

### Three people on your product. One price, nobody to micromanage

#### Embedded product designer

Seven or more years in product design, based in Europe. Learns your roadmap and data, so tickets come back as proposals.

#### Design director

Reviews every screen before you see it, brings product strategy from 56+ products, and steps in on the hard calls.

#### Product manager

Runs the sprint and estimates, and keeps the work tied to your business outcomes, so you do not manage a designer.

What you get

### Product design deliverables

Key flows and new features, designed end to end and ready to build.

Product design in Figma, or generative front-end in Claude Code or Cursor.

Clickable prototypes you can open and use, instead of specifications.

A design system or UI kit, so the next twenty screens stay consistent.

Empty, loading and error states for every flow we design.

Before and after numbers on the flows we touched, from your own analytics.

Who it's for

### Product design for every company stage

#### A startup or MVP

Speed and focus. One AI-native product designer covers UX and UI, tests with users early, and keeps scope to what proves the idea.

#### A scale-up

We bring a fresh view of the product or follow your roadmap, whichever your team needs now, and ship weekly with your squads.

#### An enterprise product

We join your squads and design team, know how complex large rollouts are, and keep communication between big teams on track.

Collaboration models

### Four ways to work with Other Land. Pick the setup that fits you

Our roadmap is bigger than our design capacity. Can you join?

Embedded Designer
An AI-native product designer who works inside your team, owns your design, and ships on your roadmap. Full-time or part-time, for as long as you need. From 4 weeks

We have one release that has to be right. Can you take it?

Project Sprint
A clear scope with a clear outcome. One flow, one funnel, one release. We come in, do the work, and ship it with your team. 1 to 3 months

The numbers dropped and we disagree about why. Can you look?

UX Diagnostic
A focused look at where your product loses users, backed by your analytics. You get the problems, the causes, and a list of what to fix first. 2 to 6 weeks

We have steady design work, but not a full-time hire's worth.

Fractional Support
Ongoing design help without a full-time hire. A set number of hours each month, for whatever needs doing. Scale up or down anytime. From 40h / month

### Product design questions, answered

#### How long does a product design engagement usually take?

A four-week sprint is the shortest engagement Other Land takes, and most embedded work runs six to twelve months. Four weeks is enough for one scoped piece of work, a flow or a release. It is not enough for the context to pay off, because the first weeks go on onboarding and the first shipped scope, and the value compounds after that. Our longest running product team is in its fourth year.

#### How quickly will we see the first results?

About two weeks after the designer starts you have something to open, click and argue about. Not a status report, a prototype. Setup takes one to two weeks and onboarding two to ten days, first drafts land straight after that, and detailed prototypes usually a week later. On a four-week sprint the setup runs shorter, because there is less product to learn. From there the cadence is weekly. A sprint of scope agreed, shipped, and shown, with an update on what moved and what did not.

#### Do you use AI in product design?

Yes. Designing with AI is the default at Other Land, and it takes on more of the work every year. Agents take the repetitive passes, generative UI builds screens from your system, and Figma MCP hands real components to your coding agents. Some teams still keep design in Figma, so we match the approach and the designer to your product. Every output is reviewed by a designer with seven or more years in product. Built with AI, not by AI. It applies doubly when the product itself is AI, which is AI product design.

#### Do you deliver front-end code?

Yes, we hand over working front-end. Components go through Figma MCP, or interface code is generated in Claude Code or Cursor, so your developers start from something running rather than from a spec. Where a team wants the interface layer built and reviewed as a pull request, that is design engineering. Your developers stay on state, data, logic and infrastructure.

#### Do you do user research and usability testing?

Yes, sized to the decision in front of us. Every engagement starts with stakeholder interviews and your analytics, because designing without them is guessing. Where the question is bigger than one flow, we run user interviews and usability testing on your real product. Where you want the whole product looked at before anyone designs anything, that is a UX audit, and it is usually the cheaper way to start.

#### Can you also do website design and branding?

Yes. Product design is about eighty percent of what we do, and the rest is the design around it, like a brand or a brand refresh, the website, pitch decks, and the assets a launch needs. Our designers are generalists, so it stays inside the same engagement instead of going to another vendor. For ongoing marketing output we usually do it once properly, then hand your team the templates and the prompts to produce the rest, and review what comes back. That is brand design or website design, depending on what is needed.

#### Why hire Other Land instead of a freelancer?

A freelancer is one person and one point of failure. With Other Land an AI-native product designer works on your product full time in their committed hours, with a design director reviewing the work and a PM keeping it moving. That structure is what holds a schedule on a hard week, covers a holiday, and puts a second set of eyes on a decision before it reaches you. On price a freelancer looks cheaper per hour and often costs more in rework. And if the designer is not the right fit, you get a replacement within a week and we pay for the re-onboarding.

#### Can we scale down once the heavy work is done?

Yes, and most teams do. When the main scope has shipped, teams usually move to a set number of hours a month for new features and keeping the design system from drifting. That is our fractional design team, and it scales back up when the next release needs it. A full pause of one or two months is also possible, with one caveat. We cannot hold the same designer for you while you are away. We will onboard someone new, and that costs time you already paid for once, so a low-hours retainer is usually cheaper than a stop and restart.

#### How much does product design cost?

Other Land works in weekly sprints and bills every four weeks, like a subscription, with a four-week minimum. You choose the setup: an embedded designer on your roadmap, a project sprint for one release, or fractional support from 40 hours a month. After a 30-minute intro call Other Land sends a written estimate for your actual scope, so you know the number before anything starts.

#### What does a product design agency deliver?

Other Land delivers working design, not slides: redesigned key flows, new features, design systems and clickable prototypes, shipped in weekly sprints. Each sprint ends with screens your developers can build from, in Figma or as front-end code, with every state and edge case covered. A design director reviews every screen before it reaches your team.
